Description
The Cvstos Challenge-R 50 in titanium captures the brand’s ethos of technical boldness in a 50 mm tonneau case designed to project presence without bulk. Built from lightweight grade-5 titanium, its skeletonized architecture includes a fixed bezel and open-worked bridges, giving it both structural strength and visual athleticism. The case lines alternate brushed and polished finishes across facets, while the sapphire crystal and exhibition back frame the mechanical heart within.
The dial reveals the movement’s layered complexity, with floating hour markers, skeleton bridges, and visible gearing. Central hands indicate hours and minutes, while supplementary indicators—such as small seconds or power reserve—are positioned in integrated subdiscs without cluttering the layout. The open design allows light to penetrate deep, emphasizing depth and mechanical motion as part of the aesthetic.
Powering the watch is Cvstos’s in-house automatic chronograph movement (likely a derivative of caliber 557) offering around 42 hours of reserve and operating at 28,800 vph. Fitted with a sporty rubber strap, the Challenge-R 50 is water-resistant to around 100 m, making it robust for daily wear.
